I  spent many years in the military as a surveyor and mapper. Several years before my retirement, I made the decision to become a photographer: to pursue my long time hobby in photography. I immersed myself by going back to school (New York Institute of Photography), taking classes and workshops, participating in photo clubs, reading and practicing and more reading and more practice. The learning never really stops. My former hobby is now my passion. It gives me a great sense of freedom, with limitless use of imagination and creativity. My own experiences and travels has helped shape my own photographic perspectives which I hope is reflected in my work. For me interesting subjects are all around us. To see them must stop, observe, and listen ( yes listen) before we interpret what we what to say through the lens.
