Through my work travels I was always intrigued (sometimes not in a good way) by what I saw and experienced. I retired in 2004 and set upon making a lifelong hobby of mine of photography into something more integral in my life. I pursued courses (New York Institute of Photography) and numerous workshops to learn and practice. In that process I became immersed in the possibilities of photography. I found the making of images deeply satisfying and therapeutic after my military career (almost 30 years). At some point along the way I finally had made enough mistakes to gain some experience and was asked give some photography lessons to a wonderful group of Seniors. Three years later I was still helping them out until moving to PEI.
I continue to enjoy instructing and seeing people grow photographically and just as important is the creativity people show with instruction and guidance (and it keeps me on my toes). A great experience!
